William (Bill) Woloshyn passed away from this earth to meet his heavenly father in the early morning hours of Monday March 24,th 2014 with his family at his side. Bill was born on September 15, 1932 to John and Maria Woloshyn on the family farm, N 8-34-11 W-2, northwest of Kuroki. He grew up with his older sister Stella and younger brother Tony. Bill attended school at Patten School until grade 10. After the school burned down, Bill started farming full time with his father John. On July 16th, 1957, Bill married Mary Chorney of Fosston. Soon after they were married, they purchased the farm from Bills parents, who then retired to Wadena. Bill and Mary were blessed with five children, John, Andy, Steven, Borden and Mariann. They raised their children on the family farm always including them in the daily operations of running the family farm. For most of his life, Bill farmed in partnership with his brother Tony. As their children grew up, Borden and Tonys son, Donny, soon became a part of their farming partnership. Bills interests revolved around being a good farmer and providing for his family. Bill was an active member and past president of the Kuroki Ukrainian Catholic Church. He was also actively involved in his community; the Kuroki Community Club, the Kuroki Rural Telephone Company, the Kuroki School board, the Sask. Wheat Pool Committee and the Kuroki Wildlife Federation. Bill enjoyed manufacturing many things that were used on the farm, such as, a conveyer for hay and straw bales, trailers, a cultivator and sprayer for the quad and a mini portable grain thrasher to check the readiness of crops at harvest time. Bills hobbies included woodworking, fishing and enjoying the outdoors. He built many things ranging from large barbie doll houses complete with furniture for his granddaughters, a wooden train set for the grandsons to play with when they came to visit, and wooden Whirley Birds which adorned the trees in yards of numerous family and friends. Bill always had a connection with nature, he enjoyed the quiet and solitude that it provided him, his love of fishing gave him this time and provided his family with fresh fish every Friday. Bill and Mary retired to Wadena in 1996. Bill continued to farm with his son Borden until he suffered a stroke on November 5th, 2005. When his health deteriorated, he became a resident of Pleasantview Care home in 2010 and continued to reside there until his death.
