Obituary
Irene (Morin) Steil passed away at the Broadview Centennial Lodge in Broadview, Saskatchewan on July 29, 2017 with her surviving children at her side. Predeceased by her parents; Ralph and Adrienne Morin; husband, Ed (June 27, 1997); daughter, Yvonne (April 3, 1985); son, Raymond (May 20, 2010); brothers, Edgar, Art, Roland; sisters Laura, Yvette, Alice and Jean; as well as numerous in-laws. She is survived by; daughters, Annette Fawcett (Bob), Deanna Dalrymple (Jim); son, Robert (Sharon); daughter-in-law Shirley; son-in-law, Bill Ostapowich; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; as well as one brother, George and two sisters, Rose Cross, and Isabelle Bonneville. Irene attended school until the end of grade three, and then was required to stay home to help care for her siblings. This was her only regret in life, that she hadn’t had the opportunity to take more schooling. However, that didn’t hinder her ability to become a self-taught seamstress along with a talent for knitting, crocheting along with many other talents. Her sewing included; wedding dresses, grad dresses, priest vestments, band uniforms and many alterations for a local clothing store. These were done without the aid of patterns. Many people brought her a picture of a dress that they found in a catalogue or magazine and asked her, “can you make this for me”, and she did. Ed and Irene loved to dance, including square dancing. They, along with fellow square dancers appeared on television in Yorkton on many occasions and of course she made the men’s shirts and ladies dresses. A long time and life member of the CWL demonstrated that her faith was her rock and she never refused to help someone in need. Funeral Mass 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 1, 2017 Christ the King Roman Catholic Church Foam Lake, Saskatchewan
