Obituary
Helen was born July 3, 1929 to Peter and Anne Lozinski at Laniwci (R.M. of Aberdeen, SK). She then moved with her family to her parent's farm west of Nora, Sk. When Helen was 19 years old she moved to Saskatoon to live with her sister Rose. She got a job working in housekeeping at Saskatoon's Castle on the River - The Delta Bessborough. Helen often reminisced about peeking through the service doors of the grand ballrooms to admire the beautiful ball gowns. She eventually moved back to the family farm at Nora. One evening at a dance at Nora Hall, a young gentleman asked Helen if she knew where he could find a glass of water, and so it began... Mike and Helen were married in 1950. They farmed in the Fosston/Hendon area from 1950 to 1957. In 1957, Helen and Mike moved to Saskatoon. They did not like living in the city, so when a farm came for sale at Nora, they bought it and moved in 1960 where they farmed. They loved it and raised their family there. After Mike died in 1995, Helen moved to Rose Valley. Helen served on the Archerwill School Board, Rose Valley Housing Authority, as well as many positions with Saint Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church and the Cemetery Board. She was also a member of the Nora Sunshine Circle since 1960. Helen curled lots through the years and enjoyed watching curling. She loved the Ukrainian Catholic Church but after it burned down she joined the Roman Catholic Church in Rose Valley. Helen's first passion was her family. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were very special to her. Cooking was one of her super skills specializing in making many, many perogies and many, many cabbage rolls - - as many, many people found out coming for a visit or through social events! One year it was estimated she made 100,000 perogies. Helen was predeceased by: her husband Mike, daughter Veronica, sister Rose, brothers, Jake and Morris. She leaves to mourn her passing: her son Eugene; son-in-law Gene Zazula - grandchild, Carmen (Chad), and their children, Austin and Georgia, grandchild, Garrett (Gillian); daughter Theresa (Dale) - grandhchild, Kayla (Peter) theirdaughter, Sawyer, - grandchild, Preston (Olivia) their son Theodore, - grandchild, Keifer; son Rob (Jennifer) - grandchild, Jessica (fiance Justin), - granchild, Dalton and - grandchild Josie; brothers Steve (Renatte), Ed (Daphne), Walter (Bev) and sister Mary, as well as nieces, nephews and countless family and dear friends. 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 6, 2020 Funeral Service will be live streamed on Narfason’s Funeral Chapel & Crematorium’s facebook page, ("LIKE" and follow our page) Messages of Sympathy and caring may be left at www.narfasons.com and sign guestbook, leave a story or memory.
