Mrs. Agnes Dumanski passed away in Edmonton AB, at the age of 74. Funeral Prayers for Mrs. Dumanski was held on Thursday, March 14th at 7:00 p.m. in the Foam Lake Ukrainian Catholic Church. Funeral Mass was held on Friday March 15th at 10:00 a.m. also in the Foam Lake Ukrainian Catholic Church. Internment to follow in the Sheho Ukrainian Orthodox Cemetery (south). Agnes Dumanski (Storozuk) was born on August 22, 1938 in Bank End, Saskatchewan, the second of five daughters of William (Bill) and Anastasia (Nettie) Storozuk. Agnes attended school in Holicz, Sheho and at Sacred Heart Academy in Yorkton. After completing school Agnes taught in Holicz before moving to Kitamat, BC. She eventually moved to Winnipeg, MB where she met her first husband Ken and had their two children Cherylyn and Kevin. Shortly after they moved to Thunder Bay, ON where Agnes worked as a switchboard operator for McKellar General Hospital. In 1974, Agnes and the kids moved back to Wynyard, SK where they lived with her parents until she bought a home in Foam Lake, SK. Agnes and her sister Sylvia opened up an Eatons Catalogue Store before she finally ended up with the Foam Lake Co-op Home Hardware Store from where she retired in 1998. During her time in Foam Lake, Agnes was involved with many events and organizations. She always attended most sporting events her children and eventually nieces and nephew participated in. She was well known for her cooking and baking and her garlic cheese bread, coleslaw and poppyseed chiffon cakes made their way to many picnics, bbqs and bakesales. Around 1980 Agnes met Leon Dumanski of Sheho, SK. and they were married on July 31, 1982. They loved to spend time with family and friends playing cards, visiting and eating. As her cousins and sisters could attest her ribs and chicken wings were popular way before their time. Agnes loved her grandchildren and nieces and nephews and looked forward to every visit. Agnes loved the outdoors. She was an avid gardener and had an amazing green thumb. Not only did she take after her Dad with her love of fishing but she had a knack at mushroom picking in the spring and fall and gathering hazelnuts, saskatoons and even hunted with her husband and her son, Kevin. In 1998, after some health issues Agnes retired and moved to Edmonton to be closer to her son and the greatest joy in her life, her grandson. In 1999 she suffered a heart attack and after her bypass her daughter Cherylyn moved to Edmonton to help out with her recovery. In 2002, Cherylyn and Kevin built a new home and Agnes joined the kids where she remained until her passing. In August of 2010 Agnes received a miracle telephone call which would quickly reunite her with her daughters Susan and shortly after Dona and their families. Agnes felt truly blessed by this reunion and was looking forward to her upcoming move with her daughter Cherylyn to Regina and the opportunity to get to know her daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren further. Agnes was predeceased by her husband Leon (1992), her father Bill (1995), her mother Nettie (2009), niece Tammy (1969), great-nephew Kenny Jr. (2009), nephew/godson Shane (2011), grand-daughter Elizabeth (2007). Agnes leaves behind, to celebrate her life and love of family, her youngest, son Kevin and grandson Ryan; daughter Cherylyn; daughter Susan (John), grand-daughter Anne Marie (Kier), Zoe and Cade; grand-daughter Leanne (Tim), Hayden, Hunter and Atley; grandson Tyler and fiance Kaitlyn; grandson Johnathon (Jenna) and Gavin; grand-daughter Cierra; daughter Dona and grand-daughter Kelsey; niece Candice and great-nephew Jared. Agnes also leaves behind Sisters Sylvia (Ken); Pat; Lorraine (Rod); and Helen; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins and friends.
