Obituary
Jake was born October 1, 1929, the second of five children, to William (Bill) and Alice Fennuk on the farm south of Tuffnell, SK, and passed away at the Yorkton Union Hospital on February 3, 2020 at the age of 90. Jake met the love of his life Dixie Johns, and they were married on August 4, 1962. They had two daughters Areta and Brenda. Jake and Dixie had 44 wonderful years and will now be spending Valentines Day together. Jake was an active member of the community and after he retired helped build the Foam Lake Community Hall, which he was so proud of. He was also on the United Church Board, the community hall board and the housing authority. Jake took great pride in keeping his yard manicured and loved going for coffee row where he could visit and meet new people. Jake farmed from a young age with brother Walter until he retired at 65. This didn’t stop him from wanting to keep updated with how things were going at the farm with the crops. He leaves to mourn his passing his daughters Areta (Peter) Bowring and Brenda Fennuk (Kevin Fehler); grandchildren Adam Bowring, Amaya Bowring, Alleah Bowring and Jessica Ogden; brother Walter (Donna) Fennuk; brother-in-law Budd (Diane) Johns and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by wife Dixie in December 2006; his parents Bill and Alice; mother-in-law Florence Johns; sisters Mary Hoffman and Olga Hauser; brother Morris Fennuk, brothers-in-law George Semeniuk, Joe Hauser, Paul Hoffman and Dennis Braaten; sisters-in-law Eleanor Fennuk and Mavis Braaten; and nephew Jerry Semeniuk.
