Obituary
Mr. Alex Michaluk passed away on January 28th, 2013 in Mission, BC. Funeral Prayers for Mr. Michaluk was held on Friday, February 1st at 7:00 p.m. in the Narfason's Funeral Chapel, Foam Lake, SK. Funeral Mass for Mr. Michaluk was held on Saturday, February 2nd at 1:00 p.m. in the Foam Lake Ukrainian Catholic Church, Foam Lake. Alex was born to Michael and Pearl Michaluk in Moose Jaw, SK on March 19,1922. At age 21 Alex enlisted in the army and moved to Vancouver. In 1945 he was disharged in Regina. A few years later, he met the love of his life, Victoria (Mizinski) whom he married shortly after on July 17, 1949 in Sheho, SK. They had their son Walter, and settled into a farming life in Tuffnell, SK where Alex farmed for 45 years. Alex enjoyed working on the land, spending time with family and friends, dancing, playing checkers with his grandchildren; he loved Victoria's cooking, and was a great Three Spot player. Alex was predeceased by his parents, his sisters Stella and Mary and his wife of sixty years Victoria. Alex is survived by his son Walter (daughter in law Laura), Grandchildren John (Trish), Christine (Trevor), Amy (Dallas), Calina, his Great Grandchildren; Sydney and Nolan, Aiden and Kendall, Sadie and Jenna as well as in-laws and many nieces and nephews. Alex was a very gentle caring man, who loved his family, farming and the outdoors as well as the ability to jus tsit back and take it all around him.
