Memorial Service: 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 15, 2017 Foam Lake Community Hall Foam Lake, Saskatchewan Memorial Donations: Families of Spinal Muscular Atrophy Canada Society Gudrun Marcella Helgason Lamb started out life on July 27, 1941 at 6 p.m., in Foam Lake, Saskatchewan. She was Gughbrandur and Gudrun Helgason's second child. She lived all her life in Foam Lake, with the exception of two years travelling from British Columbia to Manitoba in her early married life. Marcella met Homer Lamb when she was 18 and was married within a year on December 9, 1960. They settled on a farm near Foam Lake where they raised eight; Elwin, Nancy, Darcy, Cindy, Darlene, Ross, Joanna and Steven. In 1987, Marcella made her lake cabin her permanent residence. She remained there until November 2016, when she went to live with daughter Cindy until a place at Tiger Lily Lodge became available. In 2015, Marcella fullfilled a life long dream when she travelled to Iceland with her son Steven and daughter Cindy. Marcella passed away peacefully at Yorkton Regional Hospital on March 19, 2017, with most her children around her. Marcella was predeceased by her parents, Gudbrandur and Gudrun Helgason, and her brother-in-law, Bryan Haskey. Left to cherish her memory are her children and their spouses: Elwin and Kim Lamb, Nancy and Brent Lawson, Darcy and Laura Lamb, Cindy Lamb and Emile Lalonde, Darlene and Jason Wagner, Ross and Myra Lamb, Joanna and Peter Mueller and Steven Lamb and Kelly Day, as well as her grandchildren; Dylan, Alyssa, Daria, Curtis (Amy), Nicholas, Samantha, Alicia, Jesse, Kathleen, Cassandra, Karra, Darren, Jarrit, Sierra, Dawson, Kristi, Marissa, Darius, and Axel; great-granddaughter, Maisy; siblings; Helgi and Myrna Helgason, Marilyn and Keith Barber, Joan Haskey and Karen and Dale Smith, as well as numerous nephews and nieces and their families.
