Obituary
Graveside Service 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 20, 2017 Pleasantview Cemetery Wynyard, Saskatchewan The William Neilson Family - by Agnes William and Margaret Neilson and daughter Agnes came to Canada from Glasgow, Scotland on April 24, 1925. Landing in Halifax on the ship Athenia. We lived with dads brother John Neilson for about 2 years. He was living four miles south of Wynyard which is the John Hawryluk farm now. Later we moved to the East Lynn District so I could attend school there. On Sec. 23-31-16. Dad was a quiet shy man who really enjoyed his cattle and horses and loving playing checkers and whist. Many games were played at the bachelor neighbours and at our place too. He didn’t own a tractor or a car. All of the farming was done by horses. It was a hard life but he enjoyed it. Mom was more outgoing and loved to be in a crowd. She was an officer at the school and made sure the children attended. We also scrubbed the school for about 10 years for the sum of five dollars. She loved baking her scones and shortbread, etc. All my education was taken at East Lynn. I was on the farm helping, only for six months I worked in an ammunition factory in Ajax, Ont. Mom died in January 1947 at age 59. Dad died Oct. 31, 1949 at age 61. On Aug. 21, 1962 I married my childhood sweetheart, John Pawloski, and we moved to his farm where we still remain. Agnes is survived by her relative in Scotland, who she doesn’t know; loving companion Smiley and many long time friends and new acquaintances.
