Obituary
Anne Arneson Anne/Mom was born on November 16, 1933 to Walter and Mary Dmytriw the oldest of three daughters. She was raised on the family farm in the Ketchen area. Mom met Dad when she was working for Raymond Hanson in the Tuffnell area. At the time, Dad was doing some bulldozing for Hanson's – one thing led to another and as they say, the rest is history. Mom and Dad were married on October 23, 1953 and raised their family in Foam Lake until 1971 when they moved to Prince Albert. Mom was always a busy homemaker either in the house or in the yard. She was renowned for her buns and doughnuts – there was nothing like them especially when paired with the perked coffee that was a staple when they lived on the farm at Spruce Home. And we can't forget the perogies, cabbage rolls and dill pickles – that recipe has been duplicated almost perfectly by Eddy and Sean. The list of course goes on, many of us have our favorites along with the memories they evoke. Mom took great pride in her garden and worked tirelessly to make sure there were plenty of yellow beans harvested for many delicious suppers throughout the winter. Those of you who happened to stop by at a time when they were being served will remember the bit of onion and more than a bit of cream!! It is a taste that simply cannot be replicated. There were rows and rows of raspberries that seemed to go on forever which were absolutely delicious. And of course, potatoes to feed an army! Mom enjoyed a good card game of Kaiser or Canasta as well as Crokinole - she was also known to 'win' many games of solitaire. It was a great way to pass the time winter or summer! Sadly, Mom's last years were not full of baking and gardening due to her sudden stroke in 2011. Even so, we had the chance to celebrate her 80th Birthday with a houseful of family and friends giving us more memories to cherish. Mom is survived by her loving, dedicated and devoted husband Herbert, daughters Karen (Les) Bader, Karleen (Eddy) Gobeil, Marlene (Gene) Ross, Marcella (Darryl) Oreel and Denise Arneson; 10 grandchildren and their spouses plus 12 great-grandchildren with the most recent being born July 30, 2021; Brothers-in-Law and Sisters-in-Law: Ray and Jane Arneson, Lawrence Arneson, Glen and Bev Arneson, Hazel Popadynec and Elsie Domeij as well as many nieces and nephews. Mom was predeceased by her parents: Walter in October 1975 and Mary in April 2014, an infant sister – Rose and sister Olga in November 1990; an infant son in 1960; Brothers-in-Law and Sisters-in-Law: Emerson Domeij, Raymond Popadynec, Carl and Vicky Arneson, Ed and Luciel Bross, Matt and Stella Tomyn, Steve and Esther Tomyn and Shirley Arneson. May you rest in peace Mom!
