Obituary
David “Larry “Senholt or affectionately known as Big Lar was born January 8th, 1932 to Lawrence and Ella Senholt (Raelton). He was born and raised on the farm east of Lac Vert. He attended the Service School with his sisters Isla and Joan driving them to school and home again with his team of horses. By the time he was in grade 8 his help was needed on the farm so he quit school and worked along-side his dad until he was 19, it was then that his mining adventures in life began. Larry left home to work in Uranium City, then to Lynn Lake, he came home to the farm for a while to settle back into farm life and raised his young family. But mining had seeped into his blood and it wasn’t long before we packed up and move to Thompson where he was a foreman of the underground crew at the INCO Nickle mine. After a few years in Thompson, he moved us back to Saskatchewan to settle into the farm life for good with his 3 girls in tow. Being a single dad was not easy, but especially harder when you have a mixed farm to run, thankfully, he had the help of his dear sweet Mom, Ella, and sister Joan and of course the French family as well. Larry worked so very hard, he enjoyed his cattle and prided himself on his healthy herd. Calving season was a sleepless event but he made sure the newborns were well taken care of. He loved to spend time with his friends, there was always a bit of new “bull shit “to be shared with each visit. He loved to tease, he had an ongoing friendly banter with his son in law about Fords vs Chevy’s each one had to have the last say. His nieces and nephews were very special to him, he looked forward to the standard Sunday dinners at the farm and really looked forward to the visits with the Bunnah crew from BC. Left to mourn are his 3 daughters, Debbie Wrightson (Gord) and their 3 children. Lisa (Jeremy Edwards), Kendall (Curtis Nixon) and Derek (Denise McDonald). Brenda Franklin (Rick) and their children, Christopher and Jessica (Dylan Tokarchuk). Tammy Senholt (Malcolm Broughton) and her children, Ian, Eric (Jocelyn St. Jacques) and Evan. His 13 great grandchildren, Rhyen, Rory, Danika, Emma, Jaxon, Emily, William, Hayes, Jeremy, Cooper, Rhett, Askel and Silas. His sister Joan Plascko, his nieces and nephews, Marilyn, Joan, Ross, Darin and Geri-Lynn and their families. Larry was predeceased by his Mom Ella Senholt, his father Lawrence Senholt and his sister Isla Cowan. Thank you to Debbie Cross and all the nursing and administrative staff at Parkland for your excellent care of our dad. He was a very special man and we couldn’t be more grateful of the care he received.
