Obituary
Danielle Cecile Bruck (Vauthier) was born August 21, 1939 in Montreal, Quebec. She was the youngest of five children born to Jacques and Elisa (Adrianenssens). As a child, her closest sibling and only brother fondly teased & tricked her with his games. As a young woman she enjoyed social dancing including the tango, waltz & fox trot. In 1957, John Bruck immigrated to Canada from Germany. He rented a room at a rooming house in St. Lambert, Quebec and met the owner’s daughter, Danielle. They courted and married September 30, 1961. They started a family and were overjoyed with their first son Michael, followed by 2nd son Eric and daughter, Patricia. They moved from Quebec to British Columbia in 1969 and raised their family in the Fraser Valley. John and Danielle shared a love of the outdoors with their children. Through the years they enjoyed a 27’ sailboat, a cabin at 100 Mile House, various travel trailers and boating and fishing. When their daughter & family moved to Wynyard, Saskatchewan, John and Danielle followed them a few months later in 2007 and they continued to reside in Wynyard until they passed. John & Danielle owned and managed a motel in Bridal Falls, BC in the 70’s. She returned to school in the 80’s to become a care aid in Chilliwack, BC and continued in this profession until retirement. She enjoyed many crafts including crocheting and knitting and sewing; she loved cooking and took many cooking classes; she learned to cook the wild game meat that her husband provided; she was known to play golf & bowl; she had a special talent for card making which she continued to do until her passing. Memories of Danielle will be cherished by her 3 children Michael, Eric (Christine) and Patricia (Trevor) as well as her 2 grandchildren Sydney and Hunter; her sisters in Quebec, Yvonnne St. Pierre and Laurette Blouin along with her sister-in-law & very good friend Lisa Vauthier. She is predeceased by her husband John and her sister Denise (Dufresne) and brother Andre Vauthier. After a hard-fought 6 year battle with cancer, Danielle passed away in the early morning of October 2, 2019. Memorial donations in memory of Danielle may be made to Wynyard Hospital Auxiliary Fund, or to Golden Acres Auxiliary Fund
