Funeral Prayers 5:00 p.m. Sunday, October 15, 2017 Chapel of Narfason's Wynyard, Saskatchewan Funeral Mass 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 16, 2017 Sacred Heart Ukrainian Catholic Church Wynyard, Saskatchewan Donations in memory of Irene may be made to the Golden Acres Nursing Home Auxiliary Irene Lily Boylak (nee Duchnitski) was born on October 28th, 1940 in the Wishart area. She was the youngest of four children born to Joseph and Helen Duchnitski (nee Lewandowski). She attended school in Wynyard. In Irene’s early years she worked as a waitress at the National Café. When they chose to start a family, she become a homemaker and a farmer’s wife. Which meant spending many summers at the family farm gardening and making meals for the men in the field. Irene and John enjoyed picking berries, making jams, and canning fruit. Other interests were making perogies, fresh bread and doughnuts. You could always count on Irene to be wearing green on Rider game days, as she enjoyed watching and cheering on her team. On November 16th, 1974 she married John Boylak and they settled in Wynyard. On December 26th, 1976 their only child Albert was born. Upon her husband’s retirement, they could often be seen sitting outside enjoying the fresh air. In 2008 she moved to Golden Acres where she spent the remainder of her years in the company of her friends and other residents. Irene was predeceased by her husband John, father Joseph, mother Helen, father and mother in law Wasyl and Polly Baylak, brothers Peter Duchnitski, Paul and Rudy Duchin and brothers in law Mike, Harry (Emily) Baylak and Orest (Mary) Baylak and Paul Hawerychuk. Irene is survived by her son Albert (Wendy) and her grandchildren Addyson, Samantha, and Max. She is also survived by sister-in-law, Olga Hawerychuk, brother-in-law, Albert Baylak, sister-in-laws, Kinga Duchin and Mae Duchin and numerous nieces and nephews.
