Elsie was born July 25,1924 to Albert and Kezia Alvey in Edgebrook district. She recieved her education at Edgebrook amd Product Schools. After completeing her education she joined the Royal Canadian Airforce. In 1943 she was stationed at the airforce in Dafoe where she met the love of her life, Jack Bolt. They were married on June 6, 1945. Jack and Elsie settled on the NE 6-31-18 W2 where they began farming; the typical mixed family farm. Wayne was born on May 30, 1946 and Denise on June 11, 1956. Elsie began working at Wynyard Golden Acres in 1972, until she retired in 1989. During that time, Jack and Elsie moved off the farm and built a house in Wynyard. Elsie was a member of the Legion and St. Margaret's Anglican Church, where she had a very active role in the ACW. She also enjoyed reading, knitting, baking, gardening and many other crafts. She loved to sit on teh deck and watch the birds. Her favorite time were those spent with her family. They were very precious to her. She loved to travel- Jack and Elsie saw the world together. They spent winters in Texas and later in VIctoria B.C.. They had a cabin at Fishing Lake where they had many happy times with family and friends. They always had a dog (Mandy being the last) who was "Grandma's pet." After Jack passed away in 2007, Elsie lived in her home in WYnyard for a few years. In 2009 she moved into the Wan Dor Inn personal care home in Foam Lake. She really enjoyed her time there, speaking highly of it until her passing. On September 4, 2012 she became suddenly ill. She spent her last week in Wadena Hospital, with her family by her side. Elsie passed away on September 12, 2012. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Jack and her son, Wayne. She is surived by her daughter, Denise (Peter), Granddaughter Jennifer, her daughter-in-law Joanne, her grandsons Dean, Chad (Amanda), her great granddaughetr Hannah. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. A Celebration of life for Elsie Bolt was held on Saturday September 15th at 11:00 am in the Wynyard Anglican Church with Rev. Vicky Young officiating. Inurnment to follow in the Pleasantview Cemetary, Wynyard Sk. Those wishing to make tokens of rememberance may do so to the Wadena Hospital Palliative Care Unit, Wadena Sk.
