Obituary
In Loving Memory of Carol Kozak It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, wonderful mother and grandmother, precious sister, dearest auntie, and "bonus sister" on October 29, 2021 after a brief but valiant battle with lymphoma. Carol Irene "Tudy" Kozak (nee Prescesky) was born on August 23rd, 1946 in Wadena, SK to Helen (Cazakoff) and Michael Prescesky. She grew up in Wadena with her younger brother Bob, and alongside her "bonus sisters", cousins Florence, Loreen, Millie, Janie, and Sherrie (Fudikuf). Carol was an outstanding student, played all school sports, and excelled at sprinting. She was also a majorette in the town band. In 1967, she married her high-school sweetheart, our Dad, Walter Kozak. She had obtained her teaching degree, and began teaching in Saskatoon, putting Wally through his second degree while he studied and played hockey. She continued teaching in Winnipeg while Wally played for the national team. They moved to Flint, MI for Wally to pursue hockey further, but returned to Canada to start their own family. They set-up house in Calgary, where they raised Tara, Stacy, and Rena. She was the most devoted mother imaginable. Her love for us was unconditional and her support of our every endeavour was unwavering. She dedicated the majority of her time to being present at every sporting event, dance recital, and theatrical performance. She was a constant source of encouragement and inspiration. As we grew up, we were lucky to have her father Mike come to live with us, and she cared for him until he passed. We were also blessed to have her brother Bob, his wife Brenda and our cousins Michael, Jordan, and Kate move close to us. Mom and Grampa Mike were especially happy to have little Kate around! Granddaughter Lutece was born in 2005, and again Mom had another little person to help raise. "Ammy", as she came to be called, cared for Lulu every single day and loved her and supported her just as she had done for all of us. You would think with all of that care-giving she had NO time for herself, but somehow did manage to find some time to keep up a few pursuits. She was an avid gardener and loved all things green and growing. She adored animals, fin, fur, and feather, and lovingly cared for many pets (and strays!) throughout the years. She was a talented artist and completed hundreds of beautiful works in acrylic, oil, and watercolour. She was rarely seen without a bag of knitting, and many projects were completed on the sidelines of soccer practices. And we all spent countless hours in the kitchen with her, creating and learning from the Master Chef! Carol was pre-deceased by her mother Helen in 1983, and father Mike in 2009, as well as her "bonus sisters" Florence and Loreen. Left to remember her are her loving husband Wally, daughters Rena, Stacy (David Evans), Tara (David Bordeaux), granddaughter Lutece, niece Kate (Lucas Roberts), nephew Michael, nephew Jordan, brother Bob (Brenda), and "bonus sisters" Janie, Millie, and Sherrie, as well as many dear friends and relatives, and fur-babies Dulcy and Scooter. We love you mom, and are so grateful to have had you as our mother. FUNERAL SERVICE 1:00 P.M. Saturday, November 20, 2021 The Chapel of Narfason's Narfason’s Funeral Chapel Wadena, Saskatchewan
