Obituary
INGA KELTILSON FUNERAL SERVICE PLEASE CLICK HERE Inga Ketilson - Graveside Service - Cemetery The Ketilson family would like to share in our celebration of the life of Inga Sophia Ketilson who passed away on Monday, April 27th at the tender age of 96. Mom is the last of her siblings, and the last of our relatives of her generation. This generation was the “do” people who shaped their communities, built rinks, town halls, schools and spirit, as well as developed our agricultural base into what it is today. Imagine the change, from country schools to internet, from literal horse power to landing on the moon - nearly a hundred years of change, inspired and shaped by people like Inga. She was one of those. Inga was born to Nils and Elise Berggren on the family farm 1-mile West of Naicam, July 13, 1923. Her father, from Sweden, her mother, from Norway, farmed 10 quarters of land with horses through the 1910’s to 1940’s, until tractors became the norm. Growing up, alongside her mother and sister, most days were spent feeding their many hired men that worked the fields. With this mentality etched in her mind, she was always feeding everyone as if they were still stooking grain all day. Inga married Skuli Ketilson in December of 1946 and moved 1-mile South of Naicam to a farm that today is farmed by her grandson. Together Inga and Skuli worked hard, instilling the values of honesty, fairness and drive that have guided our family. They were very social and active in their community - playing cards, square dancing, and enjoyed sharing their musical talents, playing with many bands and entertaining seniors all over North-Eastern Saskatchewan. Inga and Skuli moved into Naicam in 1986, where mom maintained and lived in their home until 2019. Inga was very much involved in her community and Church. She had a strong faith and was a lifetime member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Lutheran Ladies Auxiliary, the local Royal Canadian Legion auxiliary, and later served as President of the local senior’s association. More than anything she held family near and dear. She leaves to mourn her three remaining children and their spouses, Keith (Marge), Neil (Lou), Donna (Wayne), son-in-law John Caron, 11 grandchildren ( and spouses ), 18 great grandchildren (with one on the way), as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. Inga was predeceased by her son Grant in 1985, daughter Karen in 1998, husband Skuli in 2001, as well as her parents, brothers Carl and Alfred, sister Myrtle and brothers and sisters -in-law. We are confident Inga is now at home with the those already gone. A celebration of Inga’s life will be held when we are able to come together as a large gathering.
