In Loving Memory of Marie Lipinski Marie Agnes Lipinski (Nee Rogowski), was born to John and Theresa Rogowski, on April 25, 1931, at Kelvington, Saskatchewan. She attended Pipestone Valley School until grade 8. At fifteen, Marie stayed home to help with housework and field work. At around age 18, she and her sister, Helen, moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba, for a short while, and were housekeepers for a family there. On Marie’s return home, in July of 1951, while at a dance, Marie met Eddie Lipinski. After a whirlwind romance, Ed and Marie were married on November 7th, 1951. The wedding ceremony was held at Kelvington Roman Catholic church. It was tradition, for Polish weddings to celebrate for two days. First day was held at Kelvington and the second day was at Fosston. Ed and Marie made their home, with Ed’s parents, Felix and Mary Lipinski. They farmed together. Marie and Ed built their first home, in the same yard as Eddie’s parents, in 1965. They had three children, Frank, Stanley, and Anthony. Marie had her home to take care of, along with chores for the farm. She drove tractor, pulling the hopper box. Dumping into wooden grain bins. Marie also fed and milked cows, fed chickens, and hauled bales. Marie loved crafting, sewing, knitting, crocheting, and decorating cakes for many occasions. She never missed making a special cake for each grandchild’s birthday. Marie was a wonderful cook. Made the Polish perogies and cabbage rolls. She had a beautiful garden, and beautiful flowerbeds. She specially loved here red and white petunias. Marie found time for curling, and taught catechism. Marie belonged to the St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, and was a member of their St. Mary’s Ladies Aid Club. Marie and Ed spent time camping and RV’ing. At 55 years of age, it was Marie’s passion, to learn to play the organ. She then played in her church. They were also members of the Fosston senior citizens. Marie was Fosston’s news reporter for the Wadena News, for many years. Ed and Marie moved to Fosston in 1986, and in 2014 moved to Wadena. First into a small seniors duplex, in 2020 into Weneeda Lodge, and lastly in 2021 into Pleasantview. Marie’s greatest joy was her grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Always closest to her heart, filling it with joy and happiness.
