In Loving Memory of Gordon Mark Hermiston Gordon Mark Hermiston, aged 88 of Wynyard Saskatchewan, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2021, at Golden Acres Lodge. Gordon was born and raised on the family homestead. He attended Harvard School and was proud to be a “Harvard Graduate.” Gordon took over the family farm while raising 3 children with his wife of 48 years, Rose Paciorka. Gordon was proud to be a long serving member and president of the Mozart Credit Union Board of Directors. He also served many years on the Wynyard United Church Board. He was a lifetime supporter/member of the local Co-op Association. Gordon was proud of his many years of volunteer work in the community and his time spent as president of the Wynyard Lion’s Club and Zone Chairman. Gordon was a conservative and quick-witted man who valued hard work and rarely took time off during his working years, except for the occasional trip to the Stephanson cabin at Fishing Lake for some fun family time. Gordon was predeceased by his wife Rose in 2004 and his son Terry in 2007. He leaves behind his daughters, Jodee (James, Becca, Ellie, Penny), (Darren, Sammy), Melanie (Emerson, Jack, Nia), and his daughter-in-law, Veronica Hermiston. He is also survived by his sister Verna (Frank) and his chosen granddaughter, Laurie Zemlak, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Gordon was a proud grandfather and attended as many activities as he could over the years, taking great pride in his grandchildren’s accomplishments. Gordon developed a love of travelling, enjoying his years with Rose adventuring to Arizona, BC, Australia, and many other destinations. Gordon and Rose enjoyed many coffee and card playing parties with great friends. After Rose’s passing, Gordon continued to travel to other destinations of interest, making many new friends along the way. He remained active during his retirement years helping on the farm, going on his daily walks and coffee dates with his buddies, especially Carter and George, catching up on all the local happenings. Gordon was an avid curler, travelling the province for many bonspiels during the winter months. In summer he was a baseball player and fan. Gordon was passionate as a farmer about taking good care of his animals. He always said, “A good farmer always feeds his animals first.” To acknowledge his caring nature and his connection to the Mozart Credit Union building, memorial donations can be made to Mozart Sympathy Animal Sanctuary Inc.
