Betty Mickelson

June 14, 1930 - February 3, 2023

Betty Mickelson(nee Wright) passed away peacefully at Circle Drive Special Care Home on February 3, 2023 at the age of 92.

Betty was born on June 14, 1930 in Spalding, SK. The only daughter of Lester & Ella Wright. She lived in Spalding most of her life and she graduated with honors from Spalding school.

Betty married Eslie Mickelson in 1949 and together they farmed in the Spalding area. Mom worked hard at raising her family and helping out on the farm. Her love of gardening always resulted in an abundance of preserves, and vegetables to fill the pantry for the winter. Also, her love of plants and flowers brought her great joy. When not busy, she was an avid reader and a great crossword solver.

In their retirement, mom and dad spent many hours at their cabin at Barrier Lake. They enjoyed many hours of fishing and loved the lake life.

Betty was predeceased by her husband Eslie on September 14, 2004.

Betty is survived by her three children: Duane (Irene) and their children Michael, Matthew, Meghan (Warrick Baijus); Darryl (Arlene) and their children April (Dave) Neubuhr, Daniel (Megan); Joy (Rod) McFarland and their children Chad, Shannon (Aaron) Buckingham; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson.
