Our Tribute to Fran Meehan by Elmer and Lillian Kelln
We are proud to say that Fran was our special friend for about 65 years. The friendship began when both Dinnis Meehan and Elmer Kelln taught school in the Cupar School Unit.
The Kellns came to Wadena one year after the Meehans .The Meehans were very supportive and helpful in practical ways such as giving us a watering hose and a piece of floor covering and more. From that time on, we visited and helped one another.
Fran was very well informed about the World Community as well as the Wadena Community. Even at the age of 100+ years, she was interested in what new buildings or businesses were coming to town. She was interested in the events going on. And, she remembered the information accurately.
Fran, for all her years, worked hard to promote the activities of Wadena. First of all, her church was very important to her, and she was a dedicated worker. For years she was a member of the Quill Arts Council and gave it much effort. And even as an Associate member of the Superannuated Teachers of Saskatchewan, she was always promoting attendance at meetings, and helped with the organization of those meetings.
And so, Elmer and Lillian Kelln, want to honour our loyal and dearest friend. To the Meehan family, we have treasured your acquaintances as well. May your good memories of your mother, after such a long and rewarding life, give you peace at heart.
