In Loving Memory of Lynn Anholt
Lynn Barbara Anholt passed away suddenly on November 30, 2023, at the age of 73. She was born to James (Bud) and Bernice Hill on March 2, 1950, the oldest of two children. She grew up on the family farm just east of Spalding while attending elementary and high school.
Following high school, she attended the University of Regina where she received her Teachers’ Certificate and later her Bachelor of Education degree. Lynn was a dedicated special education teacher and worked at the Spalding, Naicam and Pleasantdale Schools.
On November 7, 1975, she married James (Jim) Anholt. They lived in Spalding from 1975 until 1978 when they moved to the Anholt farm east of Naicam where she continued to teach school, help with the farm, and raise four children. In 2018, Lynn and Jim moved to Naicam where she lived until her passing.
Lynn’s life was centered around her children and grandchildren. She loved spending time with them, especially camping and watching the boys play hockey. When she had time away from the kids and grandkids, you could find her golfing and camping with Jim at Greenwater and Waskesiu, or spending winter months in California on the golf course and trying to keep Jim out of trouble.
Those who knew Lynn could always count on a pot of coffee no matter where she was, be it at home, camping, or traveling. Jim and Lynn’s house was always open to anyone to drop in for a visit and a cup of coffee or even a game of cribbage. She always made you feel welcome and comfortable.
Lynn leaves to mourn: her husband, Jim; children: Darren (Arlene) Anholt, Dean Anholt, Laurie (Joey) Perrot, and Garett (Rachelle) Anholt; grandchildren: Rachel, Madison, Luke, and Beau; brother: Grant Hill; in-laws: Jeanie (Dan) Stann, Doug (Judy) Anholt, Peter (Sharon) Anholt; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Lynn was predeceased by: her parents, Bud and Bernice Hill; infant brother, Ricky; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Wedell and Aileen Anholt; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Garth and Theresa Anholt.
