Celebrating the Life of Marion Gradin

Marion Elsie Oberg was born in Wadena on November 22, 1934, to Walter and Pearl Oberg of Hendon, Saskatchewan. She was raised on the family farm ½ mile west of Hendon. She took her schooling at Victoria Park, completing grade 9 before going to work at the Hendon Co-op.

On October 31, 1952, Marion married Elden Gradin. They made their home on the old Baker farm 4 miles west of Hendon. For a number of years, Elden took employment with the Co-op in Raymore, Frobisher, and Estevan, returning to the farm in 1964.

Marion and Elden raised four children, Shelley, Gloria, Lyle, and Myrna, and later enjoyed the addition of 13 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.

After their retirement they moved to Wadena, then to Dalmeny where Elden became a resident of Spruce Manor Special Care Home. Elden passed away in 2010, after 58 years of marriage.
