Celebrating the Life of Gordon Wolitski

Gordon Carl Wolitski was born on October 25, 1945 to Carl and Mary Wolitski. He grew up on the family farm west of Wishart with twin siblings Loretta and Lawrence.

Gordon attended Touchwood Country School, Wishart High School then completed Grade 12 at Campion College in Regina.

Gordon met Joylene while teaching in Semans. They were married

on July 12, 1969. They taught in the Northwest Territories for two years before moving back to the family farm where they raised their two daughters Corinne and Melanie.

Gord was an active community member. If there was something to be done, he was there. He enjoyed all community events including sports, dances, parades, fundraisers and was well known for calling bingo. Gord's Corner Service provided a place where community members would get together to enjoy a coffee and a visit.

His strong faith guided him through all life journeys. He was a dedicated Knights of Columbus member, active with Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish, and took pride in maintaining the church cemetery.

Gordon thoroughly loved farming. He found serenity in caring for the horses, cows, chickens, cats and dogs over the years. Starting his father's old John Deere and working the garden was the highlight of the spring season. After he retired from farming, he appreciated the opportunity to harvest with his neighbours and relatives.

Most in life, Gordon cherished family times. His grandchildren were the light of his life. Moments with his great granddaughter were precious to him. The laughter and telling stories around the fire pit will be some of our greatest memories. Humor was a big part of his life. He loved making people laugh and enjoyed a hearty laugh himself. During his illness he greatly demonstrated his appreciation and gratitude for life's small blessings.

Gordon is predeceased by his parents Carl and Mary Wolitski, infant sister Maria, sister Loretta, brother-in-law Elmer Hilderman, and sister-in-law Christine Wolitski.

He leaves to mourn his wife Joylene, daughters: Corinne (Michael), and Melanie (Blaine), grandchildren Mathew (Macaela), Emily, Rebecca, and Amy (Travis), great granddaughter Amelia, brother Lawrence (Carla), brother-in-law Doug (Marla) and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
