It was a sudden shock hearing about Connie's passing. I first met Connie when we worked for the Elections in Oak Ridges. We have kept in touch ever since. She had a smile on all the time and she had an uplifting personality. I enjoyed her company, and saw her walking the dog, riding her bike, and working at the dental office. She would come by for tea, a chat, and to befriend Jeffrey's bird. Her love in life was her family , Her children were the center of her world, a world that she held very dear with Jesus being the focal point of life. I know Connie is now resting in the arms of the Lord and my thoughts and prayers are with her and all the family. Rest in peace, Connie Bless you, I will miss you in the neighbourhood . With Love, Bonnie and Jeffrey Kozak

My name is Vanessa, the niece of Connie Rustad.
I’d like to thank all of you for coming to Auntie Connie’s funeral, especially those who have flown or driven out from far distances. It means so much to all of us, and I know it would make her so happy to see all of you here with us today.
I’d also like to offer my heartfelt condolences to the Rustad family and Grandma Mary for the loss of her beloved daughter and to all of her sisters Debbie, and Lisa Kanak.
Connie was a very family oriented person and had a strong passion for music. Before she had passed there were a couple albums donated to our family from her. One being The Clark Collection where she was the vocalist in the album. The other was a collaboration with Rudy titled The Songs of Worship and Praise. Throughout the time I myself spent with her it was extra special and I will give a short story why.
A couple summer’s ago she came down to Moose Jaw, SK where we would then drive around and listen to her cd’s in my old Honda Civic. I know it would make her feel extra special and thought of so we always played it. That’s what Connie was! She was extra special and never fell short of making others feel the exact same way around her. I will always admire Connie for her faith and strong connection with the Lord. She made me a stronger believer and gave me hope to keep practicing my relationship with Jesus. Her and Roy were the ‘ultimate’ power couple and no one could deny that. They did lots together and grew as people, but the first biggest thing was having a family!
We love you Rustad Family <3
Sincerely,
Vanessa V.

I tried to get online for her service but unable to join. I’ll always remember sewing with her in my living room, and our time teaching the pots and pins group at St Andrews. We were blessed with time ,this last spring together for tea and biscuits. She shared her changes within her family, how every one has grown but she was so proud of her grandchildren.
I will miss hearing from her but I know she’s at peace within the kingdom of the lord.

I first had the pleasure of meeting Connie in 2017... I loved her instantly like a sister. She carried a light, love a truth that was unique to this world...
One of my favourite memories was when she came to a dinner party with Lisa and our friend Jeff Robinson (who is also gone to be with the Lord) brought out his guitar... Connie would sing, and get everyone dancing no matter what ... she raised the vibration of any room she walked into.
I will truly miss Connie and while I am grateful that I got to know her, I am sad for the friends and family who she left behind... but I know that she isn't far as she was very clear about her love for Jesus... she continues to share her wisdom and love from the other side.

It was such a shock to learn of Connie's death. She was such a bright light, so full of life and a delight to be with. I loved our workout sessions and singing together with Rudi. Everywhere Connie went, she honored Jesus in such a compelling way. I'm so grateful to her for her beautiful children, that continue to echo that light and life for us all.

Our condolences to Connie's family and friends. Connie was a dear friend of mine and a Sister in Christ. We share a lot of memories from praying together, having Bible studies, going to church together, dancing together Bulgarian folk dancing, having family parties. One of my favorite memories with Connie is when we spent time with an old Bulgarian gentleman who was diagnosed with cancer and was close to his last days. I was planning to go visit him and Connie offered to join me with her guitar. She wanted to meet him, to sing songs to him, to comfort him and to share Jesus with him. She shone her light everywhere she went. I'm so grateful that I had the chance to get to know her, to listen to her soft sweet voice, to be touched by her gentle spirit. She will be greatly missed.

I was so shocked to hear this news, and I’m still having trouble believing what I heard is real.
Connie was like a second mother to me. When I went to study in Canada and struggled with English, she taught me the language and explained Canadian culture to me. Her motherly love and support helped me overcome the loneliness and challenges of being a foreign student. Even after I moved to London for university, we kept in touch and she warmly invited me to her home every Christmas holiday knowing I was far from my family.
The time I spent living with Connie and the amount of love she showed will forever remain as unforgettable memories.
From far away in Korea, I send my deepest condolences, and I pray for peace and comfort for Connie's family: Roy, Katherine, Ryan, Sarah, John, and Abbie for rest and joy.

Connie was such a loving, sweet, giving, thankful, deep-feeling woman who was always reaching out to others in Jesus’ name. When I first moved to Oak Ridges and became a mother she was a huge encouragement to me, giving me advice and compassion and opening her house to us. We really appreciate her and Roy’s friendship.
Praying for peace and comfort for her family, for rest and joy even in the hard times. We’re so sorry for your loss.
Love, Erin Vermont
