In Loving Memory Of
Candace Willcox
Candace Lynn Willcox was born on August 29, 1970 at Regina General Hospital to Dale and Edie Willcox. She was a little sister to Crystal, and big sister to Tamara.
Candace was a fussy baby, although we want to say Candace was a content and happy baby, she wasn't. She was colickyand gave her mom worry and stress for a long time. One day Candace was laying in her crib crying, so her big sister went over to console her. Meanwhile the family’s border collie, named Tippy, bit her because he thought she was hurting Candace. From then on, we knew, Candace was going to be trouble.
Candace received her schooling across Saskatchewan, attending school in Bulyea, Strasbourg, Preeceville, Wadena and Kelvington.
After school, Candace’s life was filled with her children and eventually grandchildren. Her kids and grandchildren were the light of her life. She had four children and four grandchildren: son Wayne, granddaughter Aaliyah; daughter Rebecca, grandsons Caleb and Zayden; daughter Justene, grandson Odin; and son Jordan. Life wasn't easy in their house, but you would never know it. Candace always made sure there was always food, delicious food. Candace could cook anything, recipe or not it was always perfect. She always made sure that you never left her house hungry.
Candace and the kids moved around to various places in Saskatchewan, including Rose Valley, Marsden, Perdue and Saskatoon, but settled in Wadena for many years. Every place she lived; she made all kinds of friends. She had an open-door policy. When Candace was in Wadena, she decided to take the Continuing Care Aide course. She worked at Wadena Hospital and Pleasantview Care Home from 2006 till 2018 when she moved to Saskatoon. There Candace worked at St Paul's Hospital in the Emergency Department. She absolutely loved it there. Candace was in Saskatoon from 2018 until 2021. When her health started to fail, she moved back to Perdue and again, she made many more friends. Candace lived in Perdue until her passing on August 10th at Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon.
Candace left an impact on everyone she ever met. She was a great neighbor who often gave baking or garden produce to anyone who needed it. If you needed help mowing the grass, Candace would do that too. She truly cared about others, always giving of her time and talents.
Candace has left behind her: mother Edie; children - Wayne, Rebecca, Justene and Jordan; grandchildren - Aaliyah, Caleb, Zayden, and Odin; sisters - Crystal (Leonard) Paulson, Tamara Willcox; nephews - Christopher Willcox, Brian Scheller (Angie); niece Shaunna Govan (Bri-Anna, Devon and Jacob); aunt Linda Moulin and Uncle Henry Moulin plus many cousins and dear friends, far too many to mention.
The family would like to thank you all for being here today to
