Obituary
Memorial Service 1:00 p.m Saturday, November 18, 2017 The Chapel of Narfason's 102 1st Street NW Wadena, Saskatchewan Jean Airriess (nee McIntosh) was born on September 18, 1930, in the Blucher area. She was the oldest of four children born to Russell and Ethel (Clark) McIntosh. Jean attended school in Blucher. She moved to the Wadena area to work for the McClymonts. Her next job was working for Carl and Jessie Jesmer, on their farm, who happened to live just around the corner from the bachelor Airriess brothers. Jean and Tom were married on December 10, 1949. Over the next three years they had three children, Robert Gordon, Margaret Jean and Ralph Leslie. Needless to say, Jean was very busy with three small children, being a farm wife and volunteering with the Paswegin Ladies Aid Group. In the 1990's, Tom and Jean moved off the farm into Wadena. Jean volunteered for several agencies as she loved being around people. She was always willing to drive friends to appointments, etc. Tom had no interest in travelling so after his passing in 2000, Jean enjoyed travelling with her friends to places like Nashville, Victoria, Alaska, the Maritimes, and visiting her children and grandchildren in Alberta and Saskatchewan. In 2013, Jean moved into the Weneeda Park Lodge. She loved living there with all the people and activities. Even on her last day she was in the Lodge dining room practicing with the choir. Jean liked to listen to music on her radio & watch the Toronto Blue Jays, Saskatchewan Roughriders & curling on TV. Her room was never quiet. Jean was predeceased by her husband Tom, son Ralph, parents in-law, sister Alba Renas, & many of her brother/sister in-laws on both sides of the family. She is survived by her son Bob Airriess (Karen) & grandchildren Aaron & Miranda; daughter Margaret Skjonsby (Duaine) & grandchildren Lonny & Stacy (Kurt) & great-granchildren Jonathon, Kyle & Dylan; daughter-in-law Joan Airriess & grandchildren Christine Zagrodney (David) & great-grandchildren Kennedy & Blake; Trevor Airriess (Sara) & great-grandchildren Ty, Kenzie, Chance & Abigail. She is also survived by her sisters, Marlene Springer & Donna MacDonald, sisters in-law, Alice Airriess & Rose Airriess, brother-in-law Barney Freeman as well as numerous nieces & nephews.
