Obituary
Jim passed away at the farm on Friday, September 17, 2021. Jim was born on March 20, 1961 to Joseph and Rose Breti. He was raised on the family farm south of Punnichy and was the youngest of five children. Jim is survived by his family: his wife Janet of 35 years, Amy (Dennis) and grandson Bryson, Brooke, and Nathan. Along with his siblings Joseph (Georgette), Donald (Joyce), Doreen (Bert), Donna (Barry), mother-in-law Rita, sister-in-law Alison and numerous nieces and nephews. Jim also leaves behind his favorite cat, Nugget as well as the many people who sat at the kitchen island to discuss life with him. Jim is predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Rose, parents-in-law, William and Grace, brother-in-law, Grant, and sister-in-law, Helen. Jim and Janet began their family on the farm outside of Punnichy. Following the housefire, they temporary relocated to the town of Punnichy before moving to Raymore. Jim and Janet eventually built and settled into their own family farm outside of Raymore. The Breti Bunch was Jim's pride, joy, and stress. Jim was the go-to for any family advice and was often a rescue call away. Jim always wanted his children and others to be successful in their own way. He encouraged them to follow their passion in life and shared his desire for farming with Nathan. Around the table, Jim enjoyed providing advice to anyone who would listen; adding his unique outlook on life and differing perspective. The Breti home was always open to anyone and the “coffee” was constantly flowing. Jim and his family enjoyed many adventures such as vacations to his favorite destination, Puerto Vallarta. While on these adventures, Jim had the ability to make new friends and generally was the life of the party. Jim showed a passion for farming and electronics which then grew into a passion for tinkering. Jim wore various hats such as a Farmer, Accountant, Maintenance Man, Insurance Broker, Water Hauler, Electrician, Engineer, Encyclopedia, Fixer-of-All-Things, and many other hidden skills and talents; as well as his most recent title as the Inventor of Filter Float. Jim also had an entrepreneurial spirit which led to his ownership of the car wash, apartment, and health clinic. Jim will be celebrating his afterlife, meeting new friends and sharing his many stories. Jim will now be able to have the answer to his most unresolved question, what happened to the 12 lost years of Jesus Christ? Jim was truly one-of-a-kind and will be greatly missed by all those who shared a part of his life. Celebration of Life 2:00 P.M.
