I first met Steven over 30 years ago. Debbie brought me to the farm for one of his famous birthday barbeques. After some initial introductory niceties Steven said to me, "Wic, you can be in charge of the barbeque." It caught me by surprise at the time but I soon was meeting everyone who came to the party - everyone brave enough to let me cook their steaks at least. Steven had a way of always making me feel welcome and part of the group. Over time I came to consider him family. I hope he felt the same way about me. Steven was always there for Debbie and me. Whenever we needed sage advice or a word of wisdom. He always put his family first. Steven was one of the best men I've ever met. I'm proud to have known him. I know I will think of him often and when I do I will smile in my heart and miss him.
