Helen, Gary, I extend my deepest sympathies to you and your families. I am honoured and blessed to have known your mother Mary over many years. The Pluhator and Kulyk families emigrated from neighbouring villages in Ukraine. Their homesteads were within walking distance of each other in the Kylemore district. Your mother and your aunt Olga babysat my older brother Michael and myself. I recall attending your parent’s typical (Ukrainian) wedding at the Kulyk farm. Throughout years past whenever we met at common friend’s weddings, anniversaries, church prazniks, Mary would always greet me with a smile and hug. Several years ago we had a chance meeting, by the elevator, at TCU Place in Saskatoon, where Ukrainian Dance Recitals were in progress. She instantly smiled and greeted me as always. She was a great lady, family friend, and will be sadly missed.
