Donations in memory of Darroll may be made to the Stars Air Ambulance, 2640 Airport Rd, Regina SK S4W 1A3 Moe Heritage Fund, c/o Dale Wallin, Box 94, Margo, SK S0A 2M0 Or to Kelvington Hospital Fund Darroll Larry Wallin was the first born son to Mamie (Enge) and Rudolf Wallin at the Wadena Union Hospital on May 22, 1946. Darroll grew up on the family farm and started school at Ross Rural School and continued his education at Margo and LCBI Outlook and then graduating from Margo High School. After graduation he attended the U of S in the College of Agriculture. Darroll married Carolynn Oie on August 4, 1967 and they made their life together on the family farm. They had two children, a daughter, Charmaine, in 1968 and a son, Sheldon, in 1972. Darroll's family and farm were always his biggest priority. Darroll shared his love of farming with Sheldon, passing his knowledge to Sheldon from the time he was 10 years old. Darroll and Sheldon made farming decisions big or small together. Darroll was proud when his grandchildren began working on the farm and learning all that Darroll had to teach them. He was also happy to have Charmaine move back to Invermay and help out whenever they needed her. Darroll loved hockey and was a manager for many years. Erik, an exchange student from Holland, lived with the family, and played hockey with Sheldon, and Darroll coached him. He served as a councillor for the R.M of Invermay for the past 15 years and was an agent for various hail insurance companies. He travelled with family near and far, and spent a month each winter for many years in Mesa, Arizona. Besides farming, Darroll’s hobbies included attending his grandkids extra curricular events, especially hockey and of course, he would never pass up a family wiener roast. He always kept himself busy doing custom work with his Caterpillar, and raising cattle all his life. One of the highlights of his farming career was the battle with the Canadian Wheat Board which he took very serious and passionately represented farmers. He was the type of guy no matter what he did or where he went, he would always run into people he knew. Besides his elevators, his final major project was seeing the completion of his grain dryer bin system. He was a guy of many words, seeking out new ways and ideas to bring back to his family farm, leaving a great legacy. Darroll leaves to mourn his loving wife of 51 years, Lynn; daughter, Charmaine (Jim); son, Sheldon (Tammy); grandchildren, Durrel, Charnel (Austin), Shania (Kyle), Samantha (Shayne), Skylar, Shelby; sister, Marlene (Garth); brother, Dale; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
