Going back to visit Foam Lake will not feel the same without spending some time with "G". From the moment that we were introduced G was a friend to me who always made you feel welcomed and important. G was a kind and caring man with a great scene of humor. He would never miss the opportunity to remind me when the Riders would beat up on the Bombers, in turn I would remind him that his Leafs missed the playoffs again. I will never forget how great G was with my kids, when they were little, they would always look forward to joking around with G who would ham it up and for them like a big cartoon character. He was a wonderful man who I will always love and respect. Thank you for being so good to all of us. Sean, Juanita, Mike, Madi, Macker.

You taught me how to parallel park, I always looked forward to school lunch hours at the post office apartment consisting of freshly made perogies, you never forgot how much I loved banana potatoes with fresh cream ensuring that throughout the years you continued to plant and take the time to specially prepare them especially for me when you knew I was coming home, you always had a way of making me feel special and loved. The post office apartment was the best seat in the house for watching the Foam Lake parade, and provided G with a great view of the Blue Room to spy on Bubbles. When they moved into their new home together, the familiar sound of lunch hour was All My Children playing and of course G's favorite characters were the trouble makers and villains (Adam Chandler (his favorite), Palmer, and Opal) He always got a kick out of them. I also remember G's love for TV comedies such as Soap and The Golden Girls. G always had a fondness for animals, somehow I always ended up with the rowdy/troublemakers, which he loved so much and never passed up the opportunity to pull their whiskers. Children and animals have always been drawn to G, due to his playful nature prompting even the shyest to feel comfortable around him. My children's favorite pastime when visiting Foam Lake was to steal G's beloved chair whenever it was left unguarded. G has always been generous and thoughtful. It was no coincidence that whenever you would be visiting his home, your favorite food was being served. No one asked him to, but he always made a point of paying attention to the small things that made a difference. When I would come home to visit with my children, I was always reminded of my childhood when I would hear him say "What grade you going into" and "Katie I'm taking the kids out for chips". He was always so proud to show us off to his coffee row buddies. G, you will always be a big part of all of our lives. I am so thankful and we are honoured and privileged to have been blessed with such a wonderful grandpa. It is hard to imagine A world without someone so loved We will never stop missing you and know You'll be watching us all now from above. Love Always.....Juanita, Sean, Michael, Madison, & Mackenzie

He started as Mr.Gelech, than Mr.G, than just G...but to me G just didn't stand for Gelech...to me it stood for Gentle, Giving, Generous,Gracious...but most of all Grampa.
