Funeral Service: Saturday, July 25, 2015 2:00 p.m. Foam Lake United Church, Foam Lake, SK. In lieu of flowers donation's in memory of Bill may be made to the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency, or to the Foam Lake United Church, Foam Lake, SK. William (Bill) Gelech was born in Foam Lake on February 22, 1928 to John and Mary Gelech. He grew up in the Layco District and attended Layco school. Bill began working for the Canadian Pacific Railway in 1945, a career was to span 40 years, involve many moves and return him to his home area until his retirement in 1985. Bill loved to garden and even after a hard day spent walking between scorching rails, he would spend hours weeding his garden, a hobby he continued into his retirement. Following his retirement, Bill enjoyed visiting, conversation and fellowship of his daily coffee row buddies. Many a night was spent in from of the T.V. with family and friends watching his favorite show, Hockey Night in Canada. He was predeceased by his parents, his sister Olga and Amie, and his brother Mike. Bill leaves to cherish his memory; his loving wife Katie; brother Metro (Regina), daughters Dianne Fowler and Cindy (George) Emery of Regina; grandchildren, Dave (Lisa) Fowler of Regina, Kristin and Kortnee Emery of Saskatoon, Kody Emery of Regina; great grandchildren Brayden and Jace as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Also left to cherish his memory are his step daughters; Elaine (Wilmer) Andrusiak of Foam Lake, Annabelle (Nick) Maximiuk of Regina; step-grandchildren Perry of Saskatoon, Vince (Tracy) of Armstrong, B.C., Juanita (Sean) Carriere of Winnipeg, Marcia (Trevor) Selinger of Regina and step-great grandchildren Austin and Paige Andrusiak, Ieshia and Zackari Andrusiak, Michael, Madison, and Mackenzie Carriere, and Yehnesy, Lochlan, and Maxx Selinger.
