Gordon Gerald Anderson Gordon Gerald Anderson died suddenly at home on Nov 20, 2021. Gordon was born on October 5, 1939 in the Kelliher district, the son of John and Lillian Anderson. Gordon attended school in Kelliher and Ravine School and left home when he was 14 years old. Gordon did many different jobs during that time from hauling cinder blocks, doing cement grave covers, driving truck at 16 in the mountains of BC to building homes in Saskatoon for Precision Construction. Gordon enlisted in the RCAF on May 26, 1958 in Regina, and he took his basic training in St. John’s Quebec, transferred to Trade School in Camp Borden, Ontario and graduated as an Air Frame Technician on the 28 of April 1959, where he was transferred to Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. In July of 1964 the first of 4 Tudor Aircraft arrived at the base, and they were involved with the Intensive Flying trials. Gordon left the Air Force in July of 1966. “One of his memorable moments was to see the “CF-105 AVRO ARROW” fly over Camp Borden. The Avro Arrow was one of Canada’s finest Aviation Achievements, even though it never entered service. Gordon joined the Moose Jaw Police Service that same July, and also served 6 years as training officer with the Moose Jaw Air Cadet Squadron. He often talked about their exchange trip to the Maritimes. Gordon retired from The Moose Jaw City Police in 1994, and continued on with a part time contract for five years moving to Foam Lake in October of 1999. Gordon often commented that Foam Lake truly was the best place in the world to live. Gordon was married October 15, 1960 and was predeceased by his first wife Marie in 1987. He married Lucille in 1988. They were able to spend 33 years together. Gordon said he was a blessed man to have had two 25 year anniversaries! Gordon was involved with his community. He was on Church Council and served as President at Central Lutheran Church in Moose Jaw. He served on the Crime Stoppers Board, and the Moose Jaw Optimist Club. Many a trip was taken to serve beer at the Rider games. Gordon was the Vice-Chair of the Provincial Block Parent Board. When Gordon moved to Foam Lake he would work Bingos for the Tuffnell Hall, and was Chairman of the Handi -Van. Gordon was a member of the Sheho Legion and worked many beer gardens at the Sheho Sports/Rodeo grounds. Gordon’s sense of humour was always present his door was always open, and he enjoyed his Happy Hour outside with family and friends in the neighborhood. This is what kept Gordon centered. Gordon always had a joke to share or would share one on Facebook. His wit was always there but would somehow change when the Riders or his beloved Leafs would lose! Gordon spent many an hour in his garage making angels, Christmas decorations and crows that he would hang in his neighbors yard. His talents were many and he had just got interested with digital jigsaw puzzles on his tablet. Gordon kept up with his photography on the computer. His love for his wife and family was the greatest of all!
