Obituary
In Loving Memory of Bruce Morley Bruce Murray Morley fondly remembered as “Bruce the Moose”, a resident of Regina Saskatchewan, passed away peacefully in his home on December 3rd, 2021, with family by his side. Bruce was Born in Melville Saskatchewan on May 12th, 1946. At a young age Bruce learned to play piano by ear, joined a few orchestras in Saskatchewan throughout his life, and could replicate or play along with any song after hearing it just once. He loved to play every day, to a crowd or to himself, it didn’t matter, music (piano) was his biggest love. He was an animal lover and had many throughout his life including an Arabian horse in his youth and multiple dogs. He also had a passion for painting and enjoyed jigsaw puzzles. Bruce attended the University of Saskatchewan. He began his career at the Canadian National (CNR) Railway company in the transportation department in 1967, for which he worked across various locations in SK, MB, and ON. He took early retirement at age 50 in 1995, from Humboldt, SK. Bruce was also mechanically inclined, able to rebuild anything from car engines, motorcycles, skidoo’s, to building his own sailboat in his 30’s. He loved camping or being at a lake with family and friends. Many good times were spent at his cabin at Crooked Lake over the years. After the cabin sold, a camper or a tent with the boat he had built were ever present and used as often as possible. He was excellent at sailing and wind surfing. As a property owner, he enjoyed being physical and created jobs for himself such as finishing a basement, building a carport, bricking the driveway, putting a basement into his cabin at the lake with a small cement mixer and a shovel to dig it out. Outside of building he enjoyed his deck, patio and taking care of his yard with various flowerbeds. On September 23rd, 1989, Bruce married his wife Cheryl Morley in a small backyard ceremony in Saskatoon, and exactly one year later, they welcomed their son Mark. In 1995, Bruce, Mark, and Cheryl moved to Watson SK, where Bruce remained for 22 years being a devoted husband and father. Bruce was pre-decreased by his parents, James and Maria Morley, his wife, Cheryl, brothers Wayne and Dana, and his favourite dog Ruff. He is survived by his son, Mark Morley, Sister-in Law Denise (Wayne) Morley, brother Vance (Pamela) Morley, Sister Ila (Ed) Stachowich, five nieces and eight nephews. He will be lovingly remembered by his by his family & friends and all who knew him for his love of music and his proficiency on the piano. A private family celebration of life will be held later. Flowers are gratefully declined. The Family wishes to express their gratitude to the Doctors, Nurses and Staff at Regina Pasqua & General Hospitals, Broad Street Medical Clinic, Home Care Services, and the Staff at College Park Retirement Residence.
